East
and Rice Canyons, located in the southern portion of the
Santa Clarita Woodlands Park, are home to some of the
Woodlands' richest and most lush vegetation. Visitors can
walk back into Rice Canyon, quickly escaping from urban life
and noise -- exploring the wide variety of plant communities
or just listening to the year-round stream. A hike on the
East Canyon trail takes one up in elevation to big cone
Douglas-fir trees and offers magnificent views of the park
and the Santa Clarita Valley.
